The magician writes a prediction, folds it up, and hands it to a spectator. Then, he shows both the faces and the backs of a deck of cards. On each of the backs there is written the name of a famous person.
Now he gives two imaginary dice to a spectator and asks him to throw them and sum the two numbers that come out. This results in a third number that will be completely random. From the face up deck, the magician clearly counts to the chosen number and pulls out the card at that number. Let’s say for example the five of diamonds.
He then turns the deck face down, and hands the imaginary dice to another spectator. The spectator throws the dice obtaining another random number. The magician counts to that number from the face down deck (meanwhile showing all the different names on the backs of the cards) and pulls out the card he gets to. On its back there will be for example the name Pavarotti.
Finally the magician asks the spectator to show the prediction he was holding ... incredibly the magician will have predicted both the celebrity written on the back of the card, and … his favorite card that matches the spectator’s one!
