The Magician introduces a padlock and seven keys. Everything can be thoroughly examined by the spectators. The Magician explains that this time a spectator will make the magic happen. Now he puts all seven keys in a glass and asks for 7 volunteers. The Magician appoints one of the volunteers to do the magical choice. Now every spectator can choose freely one of the keys. The Magician doesn’t touch one of the keys, he can even leave the room when the spectators choose their keys. Now the he (or a spectator) puts the padlock onto a wand and asks each spectator to try to open the padlock. All persons will fail, except one! Only the spectator who did the magical choice for the magician can open the padlock.
Other Ideas: - Padlock a chest with a 100 Euro bill with the padlock and let the spectators open the chest. Only your key will open the chest. You take the last key! - Let a spectator open the padlock with the same key another spectator already failed. The padlock will only open when you want it to!
The magic will happen right in the hands of the spectator!
Important points: · Everything can be examined (before and after) · Nothing to add or to take away · You don’t touch neither the padlock nor the keys! · The spectators choose absolutely free! · No assistant, no stooges!
Can be performed with 1 to 7 spectators.
